After almost 7 years of service at MHPC, Pastor Tom Cox has taken a new call in the PCA and will be leaving us to continue preaching the whole counsel of God in Fuquay, NC (near Raleigh). We will miss Tom, Kelli, and Jenna as they have been an important part of our church family.
We will hold a special Chat ‘n Sip refreshment time in their honor following worship on Sunday, July 28th. Please plan to express your appreciation for our pastor and his family one last time. May the Lord bless you, Coxes!
Missionaries Keith and Jaci Patman will be sharing with us in Sunday School (9:45 AM) and worship (11 AM) on Sunday, July 21. Keith serves with Wycliffe Bible Translators and has been instrumental in getting the Scriptures translated into key African dialects. We’ll follow the service with a covered dish luncheon in our Fellowship Hall. Plan to stay and bring enough food to share!
Our annual VBS (Vacation Bible School) will be held Monday-Friday, July 15-19th. We are again partnering with Child Evangelism Fellowship and their Director, Jason Beverly, will be bringing the Scripture lessons on the topic of “Jesus: My Savior and Friend.” We’ll also have crafts, activities, and snacks for children aged 4 through 12. A light meal is served for kids at 5:30 PM and the program runs from 6-8 PM. Come and be a part of this fun, free week of learning to follow the Lord together!
Have you ever wished you could have a Q&A time with the Lord? Would it surprise you to know that God’s Word contains such a dialog? Join us this May and June as we walk through the Book of Malachi together.
Malachi is placed at the close of the Old Testament. In it, the Lord of Glory enjoins His people and urges them to return to Him with all their hearts. This is a good message for the church still today. Come, and bring a friend!
April 14: Palm Sunday
April 19: Good Friday service (with the Lord’s Supper) at 6:30 PM. Special message: “The Cup of Wrath”
April 21: Resurrection Sunday with a special sermon from Acts 9– “Big, Bigger, Biggest: Three Stories of Rising Up”
We held our annual congregational meeting on Sunday, January 20th. At that time the people elected three elders and one deacon to join the other officers as servant-leaders of God’s flock. We will install these four men to office next Sunday, January 27th during the morning worship service. See you at 10:55 AM!
